As a business you will generally want customers, so why would you hinder the way that your customers can contact you about your product or service?
Below are a couple of major websites' contact pages, which I will analyse in terms of usability.
BT
This website has a very goot contact page. As the list of complaints or queries that BT could get is so massive, they have broken them down so the user can pick a specific area to ask about.
This makes the contact page a lot more user-friendly and easy to use, with icons as well as text to show customers where to go.
Google could be classed as an even bigger company than BT. However in my own opinion I think that the contact page for Google is a LOT worse.
Earlier on the blog, in the post about bad websites, I mentioned how there was too much text on the page. I think Google has pioneered this on their contact page.
They appear to have tried to separate the queries too, like BT, but haven't done it very well. The page looks very complicated and when I looked at it I wouldn't have known exactly where to look, forcing me to scan my eyes over the page in a struggle to find what I need.
I will have to keep these things in mind when creating my contact page, although I will make mine a lot simpler as I won't need to ask my customers what they are asking about.
